Those are some of the most beautiful SOC handles I've ever seen, either you got handles from a very special batch of cherry wood or they've just darkened and aged very well with heavy use. The color, depth and the grain is outstanding.

Or... I applied a filter cause it really makes the grain pop. Sorry for the deception guys, I just figured there would be a large number of SOC in the thread, and it is about wood appreciation, so I fancied my picture up a little...

Oww Tony!!! That was really deceiving Biggrin
I've started to type a reply, asking what kind of stain you've used. I really want a handle like that on my SOC.
Speaking of which, can this be done? Can this handle be sanded and stained? Will this make them like that?

One of my few wooden handle is one from the Golden Nib, a long handle made of cocobolo wood with a 22mm Finest Badger with extra hair knot.

The handle is really well made.

Here are a couple of pics of my Thater 4292/4 2-band in cocobolo wood. The nominal size is 24mm x 56mm; this one is 26mm x 57mm. Unlike every other Thater I have owned (and I have had several), this one actually has a bit of scritch.

I must commend you on your excellent photos and beautiful wood handled brushes, Gents Smile

It's a true pleasure and joy to watch and read threads like this, and one of the reasons why I'm a traditional wet shaving fan and suffer from mild SBAD Biggrin

Thanks to all the Gents, who have contributed with pics in this thread !

PS Bob, your beautiful Thäter handle looks identical to the one I will order soon from Shavemac. Just goes to show they probably get some of their nice handles from the same OEM.

Here's a Semogue 1250 refitted with a TGN 18mm knot set at 46mm. Fabulous face latherer.

I wish I had this exact handle in an exotic hardwood.
