I've noticed this for a long time & I'm just curious as to why I'm seeing it in some pictures & not others.

Here's a screen shot of a couple normal looking pictures from today's SOTD:

And here's one that looks either squished or stretched, also from today's SOTD:

probably because they're too wide for the theme...just on a first guess.

I'll bet the first 2 are attachments and the 3rd one is a photo linked from a photo hosting site..

Mine come off flickr and show up fine on my iPad and my iPod Touch. Not sure what the issue is on it.

All of my pictures are through photobucket and they come out just fine. Pretty much anything Dave posts is squished/stretched, but I also see it with a few other people's pictures. I'll have to pay attention to where all I see it and maybe we can figure it out.

On the desktop I see that Oberloser's picture and Eelco Amsterdam's picture are larger than Dave's. Even Oberloser's had to be automatically scaled down by 22%. However, on the mobile theme only Dave's picture (the smalles of the 3 when viewed in desktop) shows up as being squished/stretched.

Hi Brian

I wonder if it the "squished" problem could be related to this...

I store all my photos on imgur.com

Then when I use them here I use the following code:

Code:
[IMG=648x486]http://i.imgur.com/fadih.jpg[/IMG]

I wonder if the resize dimensions are somehow "switched" or something in the theme you're using...

Take care, Mike

I think it might be an issue with flickr photos. in my previous post with the 2 photos, the top 1 is on flickr and the bottom is on imgur. lets see what Brian says.

Hi Andrew

Brian said above he's seeing "squished" photos from me.

I don't use flickr here.

I've always used imgur here, every photo I've posted here is stored on imgur.

Take care, Mike

Ok I uploaded the pic the regular way to the blog but uploaded my SOTD on here using the Tinypic plugin. Let me know if it appears stretched. If it does, I'll try using another service.

On iPhone and iPad with "mobile" theme...

First image displays without a problem.

Second image has the display problem.

Take care, Mike
