But which one?
It has Simpson embossed into the handle, what looks like 48 (47/42?) above it and the shadow of the sticker. The only other make is a number 1 on the base ........I think !!
Anyhow some pics to see if any one can identify it. The 1st couple of pics are heavily filtered to try to show the marking and the rest are the brush in its natural colours. One next to my D3 Butterscotch for size comparison.
Ahh I think it may need a re-knot........Biggrin

If that is 46 it is a Berkeley. Which I would almost promise you that it is. I find my Berkeley to be an almost Duke

I say PM Mark and ask what he thinks - maybe do a reknot with a 2-Band Super.

Really nice to see an old vintage next to that Duke Manchurian beauty - the post bloom on that Manchurian looks perfect. Hope mine will look like that post bloom.

That was an excellent find , sir.
The 48 has another classic handle , which I truly like too.In Butterscotch I admit that looks great too.
Are you going to send it back to Simpson for a reknot?

I think a Simpson re-knot in best badger would be great in that handle.

Thanks for the comments guys I will see if Mark can do a re-knot if not I will get it done by one of the brush restorers over here.
Any ideas on age of it? is it an old Nimmer Mill one, the handle has a very nice patina that can only have come by age.
