Vulfix calls their top 2 grades "super" and "silvertip.". Simpsons calls their top 2 grades "best" and "super." Is the Vulfix super the same as the Simpsons best? Is the Vulfix silvertip the same as the Simpsons super?

I don't think so, but that is a good question for Mark.

When Vulfix took in Simpsons they also got the brand model names and designations, hence the different phrasing. Price rather than description is the best indication of where a brush is in the general pecking order.

As to whether it is exactly the same hair is a question for Mark.

I wouldn't be surprised if : Vulfix super badger = Simpson best badger and Vulfix silvertip = Simpson super badger 3 band.Simpson brushes , of course , has more hair on the knots.

Hopefully Mark will chime in on this one. Vulfix Super seems to have much softer tips than Simpson's best IMO. I too am curious to know.

Great hair in both - but make no mistake - the Simpson is THE brush to choose. I play around with a number of brushes...but when I grab my Chubby 3 Super or Chubby 3 Best, I really wonder why I mess around with as many as I do.

This is my (uneducated) opinion. Vulfix don't make too many kinds of "silvertips" but the one I have (41S) definitely feels like a Simpson three-band super. And the Vulfix "super" definitely feels and acts like a Simpson "best."

EDIT: didn't see Mark's response to Teiste's original post until after writing the above.

Thanks for confirming Mark.

It's funny how knot density affects face feel... My Vulfix 2233 Super feels oh so soft when face lathering, yet my Chubby ll in best is so scritchy I cannot even face lather it, only scuttle lather and lightly paint on.

This is why I love Simpson's three band Super, über soft tips with beastly backbone. My absolute favorite grade of hair, and my favorite brush maker to boot!
