As some of you may know, Pam (MsBlackWolf) is visiting me from Wisconsin. Today, I took her for a drive up into the mountains of San Diego County, about 60 miles from where I live in the city. I took her to Julian, what was once a gold mining town but is now known more for its apples and the products that come from them. I chose to go along the Sunrise Highway. Though a more circuitous route, the views along the way can be quite breathtaking.

Thank you, gentlemen. Yes, we had pie for you, Phil. Trust me, you loved it. Biggrin

Steve, the city of San Diego is quite large but basically runs along the Pacific coast. Julian is closer to the center of the county so it is northeast of downtown San Diego. Tomorrow, we'll stay more local and I'll take her to Balboa Park and over the bay bridge to Coronado to see the famous Hotel del Coronado.

Give someone your camera and have them take a picture of the two of you.

Thanks for the photos. Tell Pam she's not missing anything. It is a cold and rainy week in our part of the country.

Yes Phil, you sure did enjoy that pie. It was deeelishious! I loved the area up there and can see a return trip. Freddy has been a fabulous host, tour guide, driver, and parking spot finder. I have few days left until my return to the land of cowsh*t and beer farts and there is still so much left to see and do.

I heard about the rain, Johnny. It figures the rains would come now that the gardens are frozen and dead.

Today, Pam and I went to Balboa Park, the main park in San Diego and just north of downtown. It was overcast today (but cooler, thank goodness) so the photos aren't the best.

Great pictures, Freddy and Pam. Freddy, I find it funny you are standing under a sign that says Instruments of Torture.

That was the idea, Johnny. After taking one look at my scrawny arms, that sign was even more appropriate. Tongue

It was full of electric razors, cartridges...the usual suspects. Biggrin

Today, I took Pam to La Jolla, a neighborhood in the city of San Diego that is known for its dramatic seashore. It is very popular with surfers as well as home to a variety of marine and bird life.
