Good morning, everyone. i have a question to pose. Does anyone know if there is a vintage Merkur 34C DE razor? i was thinking of picking up a regular one, but was wondering if there is a vintage model. Thanks and have a great day.

I believe so. I remember a couple of years ago on B&B someone selling some vintage Merkur Slants. If that's the case I'm sure there were also 34Cs. The vintage slants had a plastic shaft if I remember correctly. To be honest with you, I liked the current ones better.

I believe there is, but the head style was different. I have a Henckels(Made in Germany) that is an identical 2 piece to a Merkur 34C handle wise, but the head is different. I also have a D. Corrado (made in Germany) that has the identical head to the Henckels and identical thin handle to a 25C. The head design on my Henckels and D.Corrado is exactly like the #34 in this vintage Merkur scan as well. Notice these show the earlier "double slants" in thick and thin handles instead of the more tame modern slants.

I don't know about their vintage ones, but when I bought my 34G in 2009 I seem to remember reading that Merkur had changed the head design or casting in 2008 due to complaints about defects and imperfections.
