Thought this would be fun.... HELP a poor confused NOOB!!!.... Here is the menu. My 57 Super Speed has arrived from The Vintage Razor Shop. My Savage blade collection has arrived from Bullgoose along with my Omega 1000066. (Thanks Phil for the extras). I know what razor I'm going to shave with tonite. I know which brush I'm using. I'm shaving at 9PM so won't ya'll help me decide which blade to use for my first spin around the block with my new baby.... I'll leave it in your hands... Thanks for your help.... Savage...

From the picture, the Gillette 7 O'Clock Blue Super Platinum. Everyone is different, but that is the only DE blade I use.

Nice setup.

Soak the bristles of that new boar for about 15-20 minutes in warm water before you use it.

I would go with the Personna Reds, they seem to be a nice mid-range blade that work well in my SS.

I'd agree with Johnny about the 7 o'clocks or try the Astras. Neither work great for me, but they do seem to work well for a lot of people. Godspeed.

If the '57 SS is similar to my '58 TV Special, both the Astra (1st choice) and the Lord (2nd choice) should be very good in it.

You can't go wrong with the Gillette Blue's. However, for pure value Astra's are hard to beat.

I like the astra blade a lot and also have had great results with the persona blades
