http://www.oldspicecollectibles.com/ Check out this website matey.
From the photo's the colours of both the ship blue and the Old Spice writing in red look nice and vibrant, they don't seem to look dull?
Looks like it's a Hull pottery mug from either 1941 to 1944 or could be 1944 to the early 1950's.
Either way it's one of the older Old Spice mugs and looks in lovely shape.

quite the find ! yup, it's an oldie...pottery, and NOT glass from shulton company. the early old spice bottles were pottery, too, but they leaked when the pottery crumbled `round the top. old spice went to glass mugs (late 40's maybe ?) but the bottles came first, I believe. they were made by shulton, as well. search old spice mugs and you will find a few links about dates and such with pics and desrciptions. I have one I got for christmas about 1970...it is glass. my dad's mug is the same, but from the 50's, but the mold marks are much sharper than mine. plain to see those molds had turned out alot of mugs in their day. the ealier glass mugs were taller, like your pottery version. Old Spice introduced a whole generation of men to wetshaving and was very popular in the late 40's, a new item to the market in those halcyon days. Enjoy your splendid mug. p.s. one tipoff about dating is that the ship only has ONE pennant on the rear mast. earler mugs had a pennant flying from the foremast as well. Steven (OldDog23)

Thanks gents. My mug is a Hull pottery mug made between 1944 and the early 50's. Type 03. I paid $22.00 so I think I got a good deal. Saw 1 on ebay selling for 45. No worries cause I'll be using mine. The shop I found it in has a traditional style that the site said was not sold but was a promotional item from the 70's. I can get that one for $18.00. Think I'll go back and get it next weekend. Once again thanks for the help. You fellas are AWESOME..

That's probably the oldest mug they put out dating to the 1940s, and the most valuable. Hang on to it, it's a collector's item!

I had one exactly like that, which I believe I may have sold to Johnny. I found it to be a little too narrow for lathering or even just loading my larger brushes, but it certainly was attractive. Yours looks great.

I like those mugs. They are a little narrow but, I bought several of the Older Old Spice mugs that were made of ceramic.

As the newer mugs were made they decreased the amount of soap that could fit into it, made a design change to the logo and started using glass.

I like the old mugs better.

These old mugs are beautiful and functional however, do not put them in the microwave as they will crack.
