So it was the exact same thing all along. I hope all the people who were beating up on him and chest thumping about how much better the "real" thing was enjoy the taste of crow. A nice list of folks owe Joe both a thank you, and an apology.

I'm not sure yet Matt. He may have just placed a tub of it in front of an AdP box for all we know at the moment. Other than that, I agree with you. Once all of this has been confirmed for sure then I think quite a few people will be floored. I'll give this to Joe, I do enjoy his sense of humor!

I agree, apologies owed. As well as the whole La Famiglia/TFS thing!

It's so awesome that he scored such a deal for us all, and its very sad that it is no more.

It is not the same thing. One sets my face on fire while the other does not. They do smell similar for sure

Phil, I believe this is a aging variable for the fragrance. I've read where people let their XXX air out for quite awhile and it went from setting them on fire to doing nothing. Just a possibility.

I am pretty sure the ingredient list is different. I will try and check later in the day but do not think I have any xxx lying around

Same thing for me, too. They do smell similar, but not an exact match.

Ok... I will entertain the possibility that AdP made XXX and varied the formula slightly for the sake of deniability. But if that theory is the case, then it's still AdP!

Call it the acid test. Hard to argue against logic like that.

Yup. Here is a list of the ingredients for the two products. As you can see...they are not exactly the same.

What's next? Is someone going to drop a bomb on me and tell me that a GMC isn't a Chevy? That a Mercury isn't a Ford?

Come on fellas. The ingredients lists on these things are so long, with such little variation, if nobody got any irritation from them you wouldn't be able to tell them apart based on performance.

The only thing the exact same is both products are made by the same company. No company, I repeat, no company is going to take the exact formula they put in their flagship product and put it in to a private label product. Some things are going to be changed if ever so slightly. Performance may be close and to some they may be the same, but they are not the exact same product.

AdP is AdP, period.. The private label soaps whether XXX or others are what they are, but they are not the exact same as AdP.

There you go , hope everything is clear now and people would realize that ARE THE SAME shaving cream , as some of us have been saying since a long time ago.Biggrin

Why did i disclose that La Famiglia are TFS soaps... because the artisan is our friend and there is nothing to hide.

Is Baby Blue suppose to be like Blue Floid... NO! But the color is blue! lol

Regarding ingredient labels from other companies... that isn't my business... my business is offering the best products I can, at the most reasonable prices I can.

Final verdict is...

XXX = AdP

... The End.

This is like the ad/slogan for a famous battery brand...it keeps going and going and going...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and believe what they want to....I happen to be on the side of those with manufacturing/private labeling backgrounds as I too have been part of this field for more than 15 years. Besides, I too experienced the unfortunate burning and irritation of XXX something I have not experienced with any other soap or cream including the "overpriced, snazzy, extravagantly labeled and packaged AdP". But then again what do I know, this all must be in my head Dodgy

Lol, enough with the psychosomatic claims. It's not in your head. No one is disputing that it burns you. Just age it properly & the burning may just disappear.

Kind of wish I still had the XXX tub I sold to properly "age" it and take advantage of all its AdP glory...Oh well time to buy another tub of the pricey stuff....BTW...I'm not the one who believes the burning is psychosomatic as I in addition to others experienced the same, However, there are some members who suggested that thus my comment.

I believe in brand loyalty but my goodness, the level that this argument has gone to is above and beyond anything I've ever seen. I'm amazed it didn't happen sooner with the other "interpretations" of other much heralded products.

Moving on now....enjoy the rest of your Sunday gents.

I don't really care either way. I'm just going off what Joe has insinuated for months & is now saying. I don't believe anyone claimed that you must not be feeling a burning sensation. Rather, that there is an explanation for both.

Have a great day.
