I have a Cadet TO-26 and find it more aggressive than I care for. Nothing wrong with the razor, just my preference.

However, I see people touting the Cadet Open comb razors. So I was wondering if the open comb models are considered more or less aggressive than my 26?

Thanks in advance and enjoy those shaves.

The Cadet open comb heads are more aggressive but not to the point that they cause any discomfort. The shave is smooth and very close. If you want a very mild razor this might not be for you.

The open comb version of the TO-26 is a bit more aggressive than the safety bar version. If the safety bar version is more aggressive than you like, do not buy the open comb version.

I'm assuming you mean the TP-26. I have the TP-26 with an open comb head. From what I understand, there are several different three-piece models, and your choice of Cadet's open comb or safety bar head. I have't used the safety bar, but I can say that the open comb TP-26 is very aggressive. Not R41 aggressive, from what I hear, but it is much heavier and more aggressive than my long comb NEW. For me, though, more aggressive is usually better.

From what I have read it seems this is the order of aggression from mild and up.

1. 3 piece safety bar
2. TTO
3. 3 piece open comb

I think the #1 can universally be agreed on. For the open comb it may come down to how much open comb experience one has before using this one. I haven't used these razors, just some speculation from what I have read. If the TTO was too aggressive, I'd stay on the mild side of all razor brands in general as a future rule before buying more.

I find the 3 piece open comb more aggressive as mentioned but I also find it easier/quicker to find my ideal shaving angle than the TTO.

To me, the TTO has a great variance of usable angle if that makes any sense. The open comb has less of that.

Thanks for the input. Think I'll pass on the OC for awhile

Good idea. Everyone has said what I would say!

The Cadet OC was my first. And I loved it, even as I feared it! Cool
