The Shave Nook is undergoing some growing pains and we need to buy some additional hardware in order to keep things running smoothly and the hopefully speed up the site.

In order to help raise funds, I have decided to raffle off the one of a kind Vie-Long prototype brush that I recently received. The brush is packed with European Two Band Badger and has a knot diameter of 23mm with a loft of 46mm.

This brush differs from the proposed production run in a few ways. The production run two band brushes will have a higher loft (50mm) and the handle material will be slightly different. In addition, the production brushes will not be stateside for another 6 weeks or so.

The prototype brush is great for those who like to face lather and for those who use hard triple milled soaps. It reminds me of the Rooney 1/1 but of course YMMV.

The brush has been used three times (by me) and is not even broken in yet. It is truly an excellent brush.

In order to enter the contest, all you have to do is donate $10.00 or more to the Shave Nook between October 29th and November 12th. The winner will be selected on Tuesday, November 13th.

I'm not in, of course, but someone is really going to enjoy that fine one-of-a-kind brush.

Wow, I thought things have been a bit sluggish the last week or so. Oh well, donation sent! This is a nice bonus but I mostly just want this place to keep chugging on, I spend 90% of my forum time here now!

I've been a member for a few days now brush or not I'd donate. The fine gentlemen that peruse this site have been more than enough help to a novice like me and was more than enough for a ten dollar donation... Though my place of employment pays bi-weekly so Friday I will donate. XD

the donations will certainly help us purchase some stuff we need and allow us to afford the additional costs associated with a better hosting plan.

thanks to everyone who donates!

we haven't discussed bumping up PM space for regular users/vendors/artisans at the moment.

we're going to have to be more cognizant of space usage once we go to a VPS because we're limited to how much storage space we'll actually have.

The page said if I donated $25 I'd get 100 more pms. Huh

It is a manual process meaning one of us has to go into the admin board and change your user group. It has now been done.
