This is a blade I just finished using a very Old Sheffield file, The file was a monster a 1/4 inch thick and 1 1/2 inches wide, the razor spec's are as follows, 8/8 french point full true wedge. I will probably use the razor as a Kamisori type, It's a fair old lump of steel weighing 2 1/2 oz, I placed it along side one of my 6/8 so you can get a scale for the razor.

Did the machine shop make it a true wedge like you stated in the older post on the other site, or did they make it slightly concave like a regular wedge?

That thing is huge! It looked so well proportioned by itself. Slight shock seeing it next to a regular size razor!

Hi Lee it's a true wedge but it needed a really lot of work on some of my lower grit stones, plus a lot of work on the buffer and polisher to get it looking like that, I only wish it was finished coming from the machine shop. PS you are right about the size it's a really big razor.

Jamie.

Yeoww! I have been using a straight for the past year and yet that mother gives me pause. Nice French point on it. My favorites are wedges and that certainly is a WEDGE.
