Hi all,

Glad to have found this place. Newbie to the craft from Yorkshire, England although a cockney by birth.

I have just started on my real shaving journey (wish I had 20 years ago). I recently brought a Wilkinson Sword Double Edge Classic from Boots and its got me hooked on DE shaving. So much so that I have now ordered a Parker Model 22 Interceptor and a Feather Popular (800-1B).

I have been using a Wilkinson Sword Shaving Soap Bowl which after reading the reviews on here no wonder I am struggling to lather it and getting all kinds of drag when using it. So I have invested in some Taylors of Old Bond Street Shaving Cream and some Proraso Shaving Cream. I have some moisturiser, styptic etc and a couple of shaving bowls/brushes etc.

My first adventures in DE shaving were not too bad with hardly any nicks and no cuts. I imagine when I get my creams in the post and throw away the Wilkinson Sword gunk things will get easier again.

Having gotten the bug I have my eye on a Vintage Flying Eagle Safety Razor in case With Mirror on the fleabay and am interested in getting a 3rd quarter 1970 razor too.

Welcome to the ShaveNook.

Since you live in the British Isles, you should look for a Gillette Rocket or English Aristocrat to add to your shaving expereince.

I got one of those plastic Wilkinson Sword Double Edge Classic off of fleabay and it is not a bad plastic razor. Well it is better than some of the other new production plastic razors that I have.

And I have one Rocket but, I am looking to get a English Aristrocrat.

Have fun.
