I've had this one done for awhile and am just now getting around to some photos. This is a more traditional style straight for me with more clean lines. Vine style pattern file work on the spine and normal jimps on the bottom of the tang. White G10 lined black box elder burl scales.

When I get a place to house my equipment again, I imagine I will lean more towards this style than what I've done in the past.

Enjoy Cool

That looks absolutely gorgeous. Smile

I like the idea of using G10 for the scales.

What's it like to shave with?

Thanks for the kind words everyone - this might be my favorite straight I've made so far.

Actually, the scales are stabilized box elder burl and are lined on the inside with very thin G10. Helps with stability and I think adds a little to looks.

It is a hefty razor to shave with as it is an 8/8 quarter hollow. That said, I think it handles with the ease of a more tradition straight.

The razor is gorgeous! I have seldom seen that quality of grind perfection in artisan razors.
Thank you!

that thing looks pretty darn amazing.....the overall shape is very nice (no offense, but I'm not a huge fan of the cutouts at the shoulder of a lot of your other custom pieces. nothing wrong with it, it's just a personal taste thing, this one appeals to me more)

That wood is really something else though. Looks especially good the way the grain runs vertically, paired with the horizontal pattern on the face of the blade....very good choice Biggrin
