I can't remember how I have been driven this forum the first time, I was probably looking for information on a Double Edge Razor ...
My name is Loïc, I'm French, living in Nice, the French Riviera, not far from the Italian border... If you ever heard of "festival de Cannes", it's just 20 miles from my home.
Please accept some wrong spelling typos and strange sentences, as you can imagine English was not the 1st language I learned , It was the fourth...

I'm a very long time wet shaver, I started in 1974.... with my grand father favourite tool. I started using my own the next year and started collecting slowly razors at the same time, it was already a family hobby....
Now I am a little bit older....my collection is not very big : about 50 /60 Gillette 7 other DE, some single edges (mostly from England) and of course several straights (~30 / 40) I try to reduce my collections , not only razors ...
I shave once or twice a week with a straight, and in between with a DE. I love old fashioned shaving brushes, I don't have many 5 or 6 different sizes....

I am also interested in other kind of blades such as knives for outdoor use or cooking...

My shaving favourites are :
- a hand made ceramic French scuttle a friend gifted me last year,
- my chubby 2 in best badger together with my omega 75th anniversary edition
- my small Filarmonica 12 & my old Thiers Issard Souplefort
- an old English Gillette #56 from the 50's a Merkur slant looks older & my new S3S from IKON.

My son Alex 16 starts shaving daily , his 1st razor is a Merkur Futur, he received the 4 pieces set as a Xmas gift last year ....

I'm interested also in readings and watching films .
Following a severe injury after a car crash I'm disabled and I am not working any more, so I have some time to discuss on forums and I spend some time every week at antiques shops and markets...
I have nothing to sell except very seldom French straights, and I think I can help if a member searches to add a touch of French style to his rotation... If you need help I will help with pleasure , and I will maybe ask for help too
If from time to time I find something interesting I will for sure share ...
Have a great day / evening Gentlemen !

Hello Loic & son, welcome to: The Shaving Room. Relax & Enjoy.

From your comments it's nice to hear that you too have a Omega 75 anniversary brush "love the shape of the handle" and it's size. Not a common sight.

I also have a couple of Thiers-Issard Horn handled shaving brushes in SilverTip badger (beautiful brushes) as well as Joris/Plisson OC razor & size 18 Horn handle brush from Plisson.
