I received a shipment of the new Proraso Blue shaving cream yesterday afternoon and decided to take it for a spin this morning. I used too much cream and could have shaved several times over...I need to remember this the next time that I use it. That said, I found the skin conditioning properties of the cream to be excellent while the glide and cushion were more than adequate (although nothing to write home about). The Blue cream does contain menthol but it is far enough down the ingredient list that it is not perceptible, at least to me. If you like the performance of Proraso cream, you will like this cream. I found the skin conditioning properties to be on par with the Proraso Sandalwood and better than the Proraso Green. Of course, YMMV.

No...I have no idea where that came from. The scent is very familiar but I cannot put my finger on it. It is clean and fresh and smells a bit like a muted version of Palmolive Classic.

Phil delivers again. I ordered the cream on Thursday with First Class Shipping and it's here today. I had a sniff of it and I love the scent. I don't pick up licorice or anise either one. It has a light cologne type scent to me. I'll go lather it up in a few and post some test pics.

Excellent! No licorice. waiting for your thoughts, Dave.

I'll echo Phils thoughts and say that it reminds me of a very muted version of Palmolive with a bit of cologne scent built into it. I had already shaved but lathered it up with a Semogue 2 Band and within a few seconds of swirling had a bowl full of lather. I mean hell, it's Proraso so you know you'll get good lather with it. I'll have to get a few shaves in with it, but for now I rank it behind the Sandalwood (as far as scent) and well above the menthol Proraso. I love Proraso though and would buy the white if they'd put it in a tube. I say it's a winner
