HOPE all ya'll get to hear yesteday's 911 call from Mrs. Kelley (member of the silly Gen. Patraeus scandal story), where she refers to "Diplomatic Protection" as if it were some sort of nomenclature of law enforcement like the SWAT team...that is soooo funny!

"Beavis & Butthead" was a great and basic basis of something even my 4-yr-old finds amusing; stupid people acting as if they are smart.

Here we have the nonfiction variety, and it is awesome!

Don't know the rules of linking here, so go 2 the front page of the USA's best-known national newspaper/website, click on the story batting leadoff, and listen to the local WTSP (Tampa) reporter's broadcast replete with "ahem, ad I quote,..." tone,...then you'll get it.

Boils down to people who should have known better doing thing that are questionable from a moral, ethical and security point of view - if you haven't heard about it it's front page news on most US and international media. CNN have quite a bit of coverage on it, and so does the not-quite-news aggregater Fark, where people also makes more or less funny comments on things.

For an easy explanation, see the following image I found online:

Working where I work - the Norwegian Armed forces - and doing the job I do, all I'm left to wonder is; How can people who ought to know better be so damn dumb?

You can link. The USA's best known national newspaper?
The Wall Street Journal (largest in circulation)
The NY Times (largest full fledged respected newspaper)
USA Today (largest amount of pie charts)
?????

Happy for ya...

Anyways, USAtoday (which, whether one cares for their style or not, has FAR more combined daily site visitors + daily circulated copies than any other USA news organization...WSJ does indeed have highest printed circulation, btw, & would prob. do best in print/site combo if gave their site's majority for free) had a link to the WTSB local broadcast from last night, but has now removed it, and that was the supremely funny part...Mrs. Kelley's tone to the 911 operator. Don't know where someone can find that call now, but it was hilarious.
