'Hand polished' SS heads with Bulldog handle - $70 USD.

My guess is that QC issues may have arisen with the DLC and ARC coatings hence the new head now being sold. I'm curious to see how it looks - the description on the website implies the top is polished but the underside is matte. The photos are not that clear on the website.

They must be updating the site right now - now the polished head is available with Bulldog or Wave handle.

I'm hoping either the DLC or ARC heads will become available too. The polished head just sort of ruins the allure of the Weber. Without the special coating, it's just another 3-piece razor...

The polished head is now available with all 3 handles (Bulldog, Wave, Classic). It does not appear to be for sale a la carte i.e. without the handle.

It seems that the head is made out of 17-4PH Stainless Steel now. Was it 316 steel coated with dlc the last time round? Cant remember

I sent them a e-mail asking why DLC and ARC seem to have been eliminated. Possibly the cost...because I don,t think there is any problems with the coating...I,ll post if they answer my e-mail.Either way excellent razors and reasonable pricing.Huh

I asked a similar question, here is their reply

We are offering the polished heads for this batch. If we add DLC razors,
we will announce this on our Twitter feed.

The heads are left out of focus in all pictures. I will not speculate.

Seems they've focused on the handle.

Once I've seen a pic, I may place an order to compliment my DLC.

I think I'll prefer the polished look.

Gentlemen:
I ordered the shiny Weber in the bulldog handle yesterday. Never shaved with a Weber I didn't like. There is no change in the head design, I assume, and, therefore, I can expect a superb shave with this one, too. What's more, the razor is well priced. Good show, Weber.

I ordered one with the classic handle. I have a spare bulldog and my DLC has a Wave, so I figured I'd complete the trifecta.

I noticed on the Weber website they are no longer offering ARC or DLC razors. What they are selling is only one standard bar head in polished stainless steel with the underside in matte finish. The handles are also all polished. So what you get is one head with a choice of handles or handles sold separately.

No ORGANIC MAN. All Weber offerings thus far have been closed comb razors (DLC, ARC, polished SS).

According to Ed Weber, there are no plans for OC, Slant, or TTO in the foreseeable future.

This is already being discussed here. Wink

Hopefully, they will bring back the DLC and ARC heads. I know that queries have been sent about that one. Biggrin

Still, I would bet that the polished head provides a very similar shave and in my case, that's a great thing.

I like to see other options for razor head and handle coating like the DLC and ARC.
Maybe we'll see something ice hardened or ceramic at some point like the high end wrist watches.

Well isn't this a bummer. I have been refreshing the Weber site daily for like 2 months hoping to see them back in stock as I want to try a DLC or ARC quite badly.

And we get this. O.o

What to do?

I thought I would pass on another email from Ed at Weber Razors.
Weber Razors Wrote:The steel in our heads is 17-4 PH which is harder than 316.  Feedback was
that buyers wanted a color match with the handle, which the polished head
provides.  We still plan on doing DLC heads, but not sure if it will be
later this year or next year.
