I have been lucky to receive two beautiful bespoke Emperors last night from the Isle of man.

So, here's the post bloom pictures after their Maiden Voyage:

The one on the left is tortoise shell, the one on the right is faux horn. Both have three band silvertip knots.

I like the aesthetics and the performance of these royalities a lot, after the first use.

This Silvertip - how does it compare to Super and to the hair used in the Gary Young M7?

Because when the idea of these Emperors came up, I wanted to them to be identical except for the handles.
And then Mark advised this ' finest three band we can source', and the rest as they say is history.
Maybe two band could have spiced this project even more, but I never gave the two band option a second thought.

Maybe Mark should chime in, as I really would not know about this difference.
I know the Vlfix line uses this demonination, and so does the LE Wee Scot.
The Truefitt & Hill brushes IIRC feature the same hair.

I like it better in this knot than the Super I have in a LE 57, but that could also be a matter of knot size and dimensions.
It has good backbone and definitively not uber soft.
I have only used it with QCS soap now, and that went perfectly.

Sadly I cannot comment on the M7. I have an M7, but that one is in Manchurian.
Not a shabby brush either :-)

I'll have to get mine out and compare it to the other 3-band Supers I have. I recall the hair in the GYLE to be distinctly different than the 3-band Super hair. I thought the hair in the GYLE was supposed to approximate old Somerset Best (pre-Carter era, when Gary's family ran the business).

You may be right. Not noticeable difference - for me at least...

Hello Wim, they are two fabulous looking brush's you got from Simpson.
Mark has done you proud, as he always does. I myself bought an Emperor 3 with two (2) super. Beautiful gel like tips and soft, but with plenty of backbone.

Enjoy the Twins . Did I say: Enjoy Enjoy Enjoy

That was the plan!

Thought you'd said so previously, Gary. Good to hear it from the man himself.

(I had to go back and edit my post - confusing mistake I made).

i'll take a few pics!
But I asked Mark specifically for dark and even colored, so my guess is it will look plain brown Smile

Hardly noticeable, only a slight whiff of color.

Absolutely beautiful brushes. I enjoyed using my E3 Manchurian this morning. The handle is a glorious shape and in the imitation tortoise and horn it is simply a work of art. Congratulations!
