It is scorched purpleheart. The blowtorch gives it that darker look.

The third one could not be saved as the pitting extends through the steel and no good steel was able to be found. So, unfortunately, that one couldn't make it.

Nicely done, You left some experience on them rather than a Super bright facsimile of a razor with all surfaces buffed to a shapeless blob.

I hate razors that look like that. Cool

When I go at a razor I view my goals as twofold: 1) remove the rust & gunk & clean out the pits; and 2) remove the sanding lines I inevitably put in the razor (vertical grind marks are okay) aka make it shiny again.

They were both pretty bad. Good thick layer of black rust covered both of them. Did my best.
