So, funny story. I had a really cheap boar brush during my first tour in Afghanistan. One day, I come into the platoon AO, and there's a good friend of mine, brush in hand, cleaning his 240B with it! I was pretty upset, but since it only cost 10 bucks at the shop on the FOB, I just decided to let it go.

About myself:
I'm an American soldier, and I got into wet shaving about 1 year ago. I received a Merkur Super with blades, soap, and a badger brush for Christmas and absolutely went nuts! I'd watched many videos on how to shave with a safety razor, and the first time I was very careful and clean. The second time, I became over-confident and sliced my face to bits, but I couldn't give up!

Since then, I've done things such as experimentally mix my shave soap with aloe, as well as with Schick shave gel (lather takes longer, but kind of a nice feel). As much as I'd like to get a straight razor, I'm afraid I won't be smart enough or have the equipment to maintain it, so for now I'll stick to my Merkur.

What else...ah, I stumbled upon this site while searching for pre-shave oil recipes. Think that's all for now, feel free to PM me, but, as I live in Germany, it will take a while to get an answer.

Thanks, and a very classy and manly greeting to all of you!

Thank you for your service.

That is a rather funny story. Did it work well as a cleaning brush?

Thanks everyone, and yes, it worked very well as a cleaning brush! Unfortunately, I believe one of my other friends ran off with it, but hey, like I said, 11 bucks.

In other news, I just recently (last week) switched hair products to Groom & Clean, and I don't think I'll ever be using anything else. Happy early Thanksgiving to everyone, I'm pretty sure I'll be snowboarding that day, so I'll say it now!

Hello and Welcome to TSN.

Thanks for your service.

I agree ... Nothin should stop a man from using his brush on either his rifle, pistol or face.

And don't forget that after your done cleanin the rifle to put a good coat of that Army Oil on the brush and slap it all over the rifle.

Now a Rifle is a Rifle and not a Gun.

Just make sure that neither shoots blanks.
