Was thinking about getting some of this soap, But wanted to know about the scent and performance. I love the smell of roses but would like one that is a stronger smelling rose. My wife likes roses as well but she likes stronger smelling soaps due to the legs being so far from the nose she has trouble smelling some of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It comes as two large 250g bars (500g in total). Which is a bunch of soap for $20.00.

Thanks for your help

Thanks Phil for your response to my question on this soap!!!!!

This, to me, is a strong synthetic rose scent.

Hi Patrick...Happy Thanksgiving ! Been using Kabinett for awhile, now.
The shave is great and irritation-free, for me. My usual regimen is to use more soaps in the winter, and more creams in milder weather. Love or hate rose, out of the wrapper, the scent is there. Once in the mug, or while shaving, the scent quiets down. IMO, it doesn't really have any "more" scent than any of my other soaps*, or scented creams, after being in the mug for awhile. Maybe detecting it, is because rose is very distinct smelling. *(MWF, DRH ARLINGTON, GOLD DACHS SPEZIAL) After rinse-off, it doesn't leave anything too strong smelling on the face, not much lingers in a couple of hours. I don't see rose listed on the wrapper as an ingredient. It does say "parfum". Parfum can be any combination of natural &/or synthetic ingredients. The only actual flower ingredient that I can see is, geranium based. I didn't think I'd ever see the day that I could like a rose-scented anything, but after shaving with it, I changed my mind. It's not too pricey, the "serving size" is generous. Seems to perform as well as tallow soaps I have used. After getting such a good shave with it, I warmed up to the scent. Now, I kinda enjoy it. It may be a scent a woman would like to use, also. The scent at least lasts for awhile. I DO lather with distilled water, my well water is hard.

You know everything you asked is subjective right? Keep that in mind...

If you like Rose, and strong rose, you'll love the scent. I had to age mine to significantly reduce the scent in order to get to like it. I get rose from the scent, synthetic, maybe, but herbs also to enhance the rose quality.

The performance is top notch. Just a hair removed from being among the worlds absolute best shave soaps.

I did a review of it here.

It's a long review, but part of that was because of the time it took for me to tolerate it.

But from what you describe that you're looking for I think you'll absolutely love it.

I know for sure that my nose is different from the majority on most scents. I love the rose and don't think it's too strong, AdP on the other hand is... Anyway, it's a great performing soap and for $20 beats every soap but very few, try it and let us know.

I don't believe it is. It's a fairly softish soap ( almost Arkoish in consistency ).

I would call it the firmest soft soap that I've felt. Not triple milled though.

This is a great soap if you like rose. Great lather and helps provide an excellent shave. Cheapest bang for the buck out there.

I find it to have the only rosy scent which I actually like. It is quite pronounced, but I don't find it overwhelming - in fact, I find it very traditional with a barbershoppy note. My wife was hanging around the bathroom one morning when I was shaving with it, and she told me that she found the scent sexy.
