In the market for an XL Progress knob for an XL Progress to make the razor about 4 1/2 inches long and 4 1/2+? ounces. As far as I know, they aren't made. The only maker I know of is Mer. Any way anyone else would get involved. Weber or Tradere will get involved.

At this time Mer is the only one doing this...if you have the razor he will do just the knob...or you can buy them complete from LEES Razors.Lightbulb

Several months ago, I had Eric/Mer convert my Progress XL with his knob. While I was waiting for Mer's conversion to arrive, I found out that Cooncat Bob also converted Progresses so I ordered one from him.

I now have a Mer progress knob that has never been used. If interested, PM me.

Wow Randy, was that possibly one of Bob's last pieces? Glad you were able to get it.

I thought there was going to be confusion on the matter. I was looking for an XL knob for an XL handled Progress. So the longer knob like this one:

but for an xl handled progress like this one:

No. You can't make me. I don't want those two options. I'll wait for someone else to produce something that I want or I'll get nothing.

Hey, Brian.

I got 6 knobs/conversions in all from Bob and as it turns out, my last was right before he passed. I haven't shaved with anything but a Bob knob in over a year. Terrific pieces.

Good to hear from you.

Ok. I'll try this again. The longer bigger knob like the progress on the right of this picture on this thread but that would fit on a long handled progress like the one on this thread in the picture on the left:

Customisation/fabrication of the Progress knob is a time consuming and specialist area, at present Mer appears to be the only one offering that service. If you want an XL knob on a long handled Progress, Mer is the only option I am aware of so I suggest you contact him. As they make their own razors I very much doubt it would be in the interests of the likes of Weber or Tradere to "get involved". Your other options are to find yourself someone with the engineering and metalwork skills to make you what you're after. If so, I would strongly recommend that you try to explain yourself more succinctly than you have in this post. Also it might not do any harm to try to be a bit more polite in your approach. Failing that, you can wait.

Several years ago iKon was making replacement knobs for the standard Progress. They were one piece 100% stainless steel. Mer makes the knobs then attaches them onto the original shaft of the Progress razor. He does excellent work considering how many he has done over the years. At one point Bullgoose was selling the replacement stainless steel knobs for as low as $15. As a do it yourself project they were easy to fit the retro knobs onto the razor.
