So I just received this very fine brush from Rudy Vey Cool

I almost bought the exact handle design in a Rooney old stock model a couple of weeks ago, but then saw Rudy's brush in the 'Shave of the day' section and thought I might like that with a Shavemac D01 3-Band knot in it Biggrin

I must say this brush is mighty fine - very sturdy and heavy handle, brush hair is VERY dense, out of the 4 D01 3-Band Silvertip brushes I own, this ranks at number one or two regarding density of the knot, perhaps also because I ordered it with a quite low loft.........

Have yet to use rinse it and use it, but here is a couple of pre bloom pics for you all Badger

Brush specs:
Rudy Vey Ivory Beehive
Knot hair: Shavemac D01 3-Band Silvertip
Knot Size: 25 mm
Knot Shape: Fan
Loft: 46 mm

In pics compared to a Shavemac TSN Beehive LE 2013 Finest 23 mm knot, 50 mm loft bulb and to a Simpson Duke 3 Manchurian ButterScotch 24 mm knot, 48 mm loft fan.

Nice brush! That's some serious density in there, I bet it will feel amazing on the face.

Sure that this one works? I'd expect D01 3band with 25/46 mm to behave like a stick. Imho that is too low lofted.

I already own a D01 2-band in bulb shape lofted at 48 mm, so YES! I have a very good idea of what will work and will not work Wink

I did not order this one to feel luxurious soft, I ordered it to own a some what softer edition of my ultra scratchy D01 2-band 48 mm bulb Shavemac, and I'm pretty sure this will do the trick.

I like variety in my brush collection - and once you reach 50+ brushes, the need for getting one more brush that behaves and feels just like the 50 others is not really there anymore.....
Also there is a reason for the handle to look like a beehive, the brush has to sting like a bee Wink

I wanted to try a D01 3-band at a low loft in fan shape for an ultra dense feeling face lather brush for croaps and 3-4 days stubble, and I think I just got that brush from Rudy Vey W00t

Thx Teiste Cool

You know I won't use it often, Teiste - as I rotate all of my 50+ brushes and only shave 4 times a week Biggrin
If I shave 4 times a week, that's 200 shaves a year, thus I use each of my brushes maybe 4 times a year.......

Just used my Rudy Vey for the second time together with Simpson Luxury cream and my Merkur Futur set to 3 for both passes.
This brush is perfect for croaps - outstanding quality Number_one

It's moving in to my Top 10, and maybe in my Top 5 soon - 10/10, can not put a finger on this brush, it's perfect. Even with the low loft in mind, it's surprisingly soft at the tips and have solid backbone - thought a D01 3-bander would be more scrubby.

I knew it wasn't a D01 2-Bander, but my other D01 3-banders are a bit more solid in feel. This beauty is surprisingly soft at the tips for a 46 mm lofted 25 mm knot fan shaped D01 3-Bander Cool

Must have gotten a softer D01 3-band batch from Bernd Smile
I can only recommend Rudy Vey's brushes highly - I did not get this one for cheap, but the price I paid was worth it.
Next up could be a D01 2-band 26 mm knot 54 mm loft fan shape in BeeHive Tortoise Badger W00t Badger

Next, have Rudy make you a brush with the Shavemac D01 extreme flattop knot - I have 3 in different handles, 3 of my favorite brushes.
