As far as complaints go, this is fairly petty. Still though, it makes me scratch my head. I just joined a new gym and went through my water bottle in the first 20 minutes or so. When I went to refill the bottle, I could not find a water fountain. It turns out that there is a grand total of two water fountains in the gym but none anywhere near the cardio area. What gives? I guess I'll have to lug in the gallon bottles from now on. Cool

How far is the cardio area from the bathroom. Might have something to do where the water is located.

The cardio area is on another level. That said, it overlooks the pool so there is plenty of water. It seems like it is just poor planning. You have to cross two rooms and go down a hall in order to get water...it is definitely out of the way.

Definitely poor planning. Either that or they don't think you're getting enough cardio on the machines so they want you to run for water too. Tongue

Can you buy water there?

If you can then, the County/City building permits only requires two fountains.

Have you noticed that very few people actually use public water fountains ... well I still use them.

And have you noticed that you can buy water everywhere. My wife likes bottled water and doesn't complain about the cost.

However, she does complain about the price of gasoline.

Go figure.

I guess i shouldn't complain... my gym has a grass roof and uses the rain water (in tanks) for drinking fountains... goes through filters of course.

Hmmm, I wonder if the local laws require the gym to have plenty of fountains. Being in the desert and all. All businesses are required to give water to anyone who asks. An interesting law.

I'd hate to think global warming has turned Redondo Beach into a desert. I think Phil is pretty much on the ocean.

The Bally's which was closest to me (closed when they were bought out) only had water fountains in the hallways leading to the dressing rooms. It was a total PITA as if you went to refill a bottle you'd have to hope someone didn't take over your piece of equipment. Especially the treadmills / elliptical machines.
