I have received this handle from Spain (my homeland) today , and oh boy ! , what have I been missing all this time !!! You gents were right regarding the quality of the UFO handles : theyre simply AMAZING

I truly like its minimal presentation , with a small plastic "box" , with two sections and a proof paper of the handle , as you can see in this pic :

The handle weights 103 g , and with an Edwin Jagger handle , the weights goes up to 125 g , according to my electronic scale.

What an amazing handle this is , my friends.Seriously , the ones that already have this handle , know what Im talking about.

Here is a pic with another beautiful handle , from the Muhle R89/R41 , which is so light compared it with this Godzilla one :

As you know , you can attach most of the old closed/open comb heads from the 3 piece Gillette razors , as well as the new ones from Merkur/Muhle/Edwin Jagger.

A pic with the handle and the Edwin Jagger closed comb head :

and here with the Merkur closed comb one :

This is a great razor , let me tell you , as beautiful as a vintage Gillette Aristocrat UK.The quality is basically the same , since this handle is made of 100 stainless steel.

I used it today, with am Edwin Jagger closed comb head , and its weight was enough to allow me not to apply almost any pressure at all , and provided me a very good , comfortable shave. The handle is thick , having 85 mm of lenght , which also provides a good grip and its very comfortable to hold , feeling very sturdy on the hand , and giving you the feeling of having a "serious" tool on it.Biggrin

Rafael (UFO) have proven to be an OUTSTANDING artisan , and yes , the people who told me about these UFO handles , were right : are simply wonderful ones.

And Rafael was kind enough to send me an extra handle (Godzilla) to make a PIF among the good members of this forum , and Ill post regarding it very soon.

Thanks Mr Rafael , you are a MASTER !!! and thanks Dr Dulcarama for the job that you do supporting Rafael and his business.

Teiste, wonderful photos of the Goliath!
I have accumulated several UFO handles over the last 4 months, and love them all. They are meticulously crafted pieces of working art. I must also commend the UFO team for their outstanding service - open reception to questions, quick communications by email, and prompt hassle-free shipping. I have no reservations recommending these handles to anyone pondering a purchase.

That handle is a beast! You definitely make it look tempting in those pictures Teiste, thank you for the stellar review.

Do you just order direct from the blogspot website? It's a bit confusing browsing that site, at least to me.

Great review of an absolutely fantastic handle.

Rafael is not only a master craftsman, but a true gentleman. I can't speak highly enough about his product or his "assistant" Juan, who I think of as a good friend.

My modest UFO collection:

Teiste, because of this great review I contacted Juan today and ordered the Godzilla in stainless (85mm). You are a good enabler!

@Ben, nice collection of UFO's you have there, thank you for the handle porn. Tongue
Juan contacted be today regarding my inquiry and was a true gentleman. We had it ordered in less than two emails and about 10 minutes.

Congratulations on a great choice, but be careful - UFO handles are like potato chips... one simply isn't enough! Biggrin

@Cessnabird : Im sure you're not going to regret it. Looking forward to read your impressions about it.

Gents , Im afraid that once you try one UFO handle , there is not stop...

Maybe we should start thinking about a TSN UFO handle edition...Rolleyes

That is a brilliant idea! I'm sure Rafael would oblige a limited-run of special TSN handles if enough members expressed interest.

I've owned the Kaiser and actually helped "create by request" the Goliath XL. Both are wonderful handles - neither is particularly "grippy" as such. I had requested a much more aggressive knurling - but unfortunately at the time - more aggressive knurling was unable to be done.

In any event - they are pretty, magnificent, wonderful, etc...

To my taste however - an option for more aggressive (better bite) knurling would be a real improvement. As a general rule - all of the UFO knurling is pretty much the same - if you're looking for an OSS/Bulldog/Feather AS type of bite - it ain't happening.

I really want one of these handles for my EJ DE86 (I have the black handle and its hard to grip). A LE TSN would be a great one to have. If you guys get it worked out.
