Does anyone have experience with Kai stainless steel double edge blades? I'm curious to hear of your experiences. Thank you.

They were sharper to me (and a bit smoother) than a Feather.

I have used both the Kai's and the Feathers and they are very similar. I think they stack up equally to the Feather's.

Much smoother than feather blades is right.

They seem to out-Feather the Feathers just as the above posts state. Oh, they last longer as well. Cool

Certainly they're worth considering. Sisi

Very sharp blades but don't last long. Maybe four shaves tops. They are also on the expensive side with few vendors selling them.

Yep, they last about twice as long as Feathers! 24

I think they are a nice blade. I would say that for me they are not as smooth as Feathers, Polsilvers, and Gillette SharpEdge. For the money they are slightly less of a blade for twice the price of the aforementioned blades.

I've only used the SE Kai blades (in the Cobra). I found them very approachable and satisfactory in performance. However the SE Feather outlasted and outperformed them. I don't know if my experience with the SE comparison translates directly to the DE, but it seems logical (to me).

That said, I'm not a big fan of DE Feather blades...

I am torn on the Kai blades. Initially, I found them comparable to Feather's but lately, I am finding some duds in the packs. Too many for my liking considering the price.

When they are good, I find them smoother than a Feather on the initial shave but sometimes by the second shave, they are gone before I finish my third pass. Other Kai blades will go to four shaves without any trouble.

With a Feather, it's a very consistent two and out for me. I like knowing what's going to happen with my blade and the Kai's don't always offer that for me.

Lastly, I have had trouble in both vintage and modern TTO's with the Kai blades. Sometimes they seem to have difficulty fitting as the head is tightened down. They will deform/bend excessively in the TTO's that I have tried them in and while this doesn't seem to affect the shave, I find it disconcerting.

Aside from what's written above, I've never seen mention of anyone else experiencing anything untoward with the Kai's.
Eric
