I've used mine for few days now and I think the brush is great. The knot is very dense, tips soft and has almost zero scritch. It releases lather great and I have no problem getting a great 3 pass face lather. I do find that the knot splays more than I would like and I guess I like more scrub than I get. I'm wondering if I should have went with the 2 band? Overall a wonderful brush that is a joy to use and I find myself looking forward to tomorrows shave with it.

The brush does splay more than I expected and I must be easy with it or it'll bottom out while lathering on my face.

The feel is nice, scrubby soft, and with proper loading it can generate a great lather. I'm still determining if I like the ergonomics of the handle or not. The hair used is very nice & I'm pleased to have it in my Nook.

I'll try to be easier with it tomorrow. I like to bear down a little when I lather up.

my brush is listed in the registry as D01 Silvertip, but the invoice from Shavemack called it: "D01 Silvertip 2-band".
when I ordered it, the hair-grade drop down menu called it:
"Silvertip Extra D01".

In comparing the D01 Silvertip to the Silvertip, the D01 has more backbone and does not splay as much. Both have very soft tips and are densely packed, but still release the lather easily.

Used my SN brush today and lightenend the pressure. I had great results as it did not splay as much but still worked up a great lather with MWF. So very soft!

WTG! As long as I don't bottom out the brush while lathering I really like the feel of it.

I quite like the knot, I'm still getting used to the handle. The hair is very soft but still with good backbone and just a touch of scritch. It makes excellent lather. I find the brush functions best with a paintbrushing motions more than circular but that is how I use almost all of my brushes. To me the Shavemac D01 Silvertip knot is an excellent value, and a bargain at the price we purchased these for. One other thing is that the brush is exceptionally well made. Mine has shed exactly one hair, and it was on the third or fourth lathering.
