Keeping info easy to find: open comb head is 32g for cap and base plate. Base plate alone is 19g.

Yesterday I finally received the long awaited iKon Deluxe Open Comb razor from NYC somewhere in Manhattan. This beats waiting for it to come from Thailand although that is where all the iKons are made.
I actually used it late yesterday afternoon for a one pass shave. My first impression was a well balanced perfect grip razor that shaves as smooth as butter. I used a Polsilver Super Iridium blade which are the best of the best. My second shave was very early this morning using the same blade but increasing my passes to two. One with the grain and the other against and across the chin. Again like butter. If this razor is aggressive you wouldn't know it that is how smooth and close it performs. The blade sits in the head perfectly thanks to the old Gillette slotted system. The finish is first rate which is beautiful matte & similar to the OSS and Feather AS. This is an all stainless steel razor not cast using 316 marine steel.
The question I asked myself is this razor better then the Titan H1 and the answer is I am not sure. The Titan feels more aggressive but doesn't seem to shave any better then the iKon. I love both razors but the iKon is much cheaper but not made cheaper.
conclusion: This is a wonderful razor and thank you Greg for producing it.

I used mine for the first time last night and agree wholeheartedly with your review. It's a really nice razor and works well with he OSS handle it came with.

It reminds me of a NEW Deluxe in terms of aggressiveness (which makes sense given that it was designed as a modern update if this razor).

It is made out Marine 316L which is a grade of stainless steel that has a high corrosion resistance.

All-in-all it is a really nice razor which is one of the best Birthday presents I've had in years.

More aggressive but very smooth. I used a Polsilver Super Iridium. Reading other reviews one guy used a Feather and gave a Thumbsup

My initial impression of the new open comb is very good. Fit and finish was flawless, blade gaps were dead even, combs nice and crisp. Cap threads were absolutely perfect, Gillette New Deluxe style lugs in the cap mate like a lock and key to the slotted blade bed- no fiddling with teeny lugs that may or may not be indexed into the blade center. I like the new mid-length handle, balance was very natural, albeit weighty.

Usable blade angle was easily found and kept, unlike the first generation Tradere or Feather that required a very definite working angle and demanded you stay there. Aggression was right where I like it- straight down the middle- not too hot, not too cold. Efficiently workable aggression, but she doesn't leave you standing on the balls of your feet. This is a razor that lets you know a bite is coming, and you can back off ahead of time without skipping a beat. The covered end caps easily got into the upper lip area under the nose without incident or fuss, just like it should be.

This is the Modern New Deluxe I have been hoping for with all the bells and whistles. Those who got the barbed wire boxed iKon Deluxe a few years back were hoping for a modern stainless retake on the Gilette New Deluxe, but many felt the aggression was lacking- a very mild incarnation. This time around, l say Greg kicked it straight in the baby maker.

So is it more aggressive than the 2nd Generation Bulldog Deluxe (the barbed wire box)? Now you've got me thinking about ordering one.

Yes, it certainly was more aggressive than the 2nd gen. The second gen boxed set I used came with the open comb base plate and the safety bar base plate. The safety bar base plate was almost unusable for me due to it's extreme mildness, and the open comb was barely better. This new iteration is definitely a revamped and highly improved version.
