This's quite odd stuff...definitely the same scent as the balm. Reminds me of hay with a strong caramel note. It's definitely got a strong SCS New Spice-esque caramel note, but there's most certainly a hay-y component...I feel like I should be back on my grandfather's farm, sitting on a hay bale eating moonpies.

Not quite sure if I like it yet...it certainly isn't as classic an aroma as Floid Amber or Floid Vig/Suave. Anyone else get similar impressions?

I haven't tried it yet but I plan on ordering it soon. Thanks for your thoughts, you are the first I've heard who's tried it.

This will be interesting. I have some on the way (I think for Christmas) but I don't like hay. I baled enough of that back in the day to last me a lifetime Dodgy

I lit a cigar a couple years ago that almost ruined me from anything hay.

It seems to dry down pretty sweet -- it's much more caramel now than hay. I might be exaggerating the hay note a little, since it's kind of nostalgic for me. Tongue

Your description makes me very interested -- I like the scent of hay, but sometimes sweet scents hit me wrong. I asked Garry whether he'd be stocking samples, and he said he'd try and pick some up.

Hmm hay reminds me of vetiver.
Maybe it includes vetiver in the notes?
I like vetiver by the way.

I used Floid Black for the first time tonight and I must say I'm impressed. It has the same healing qualities as the other Floid splashes. I'm always impressed with how well they moisturize and this ones no different. The scent is strong and unique but I like it and so does my wife. I'm not going to try and describe it though. I shaved 2 and a half hours ago and I still smell it very strong.

Interesting thoughts...

May I ask if your wife liked the original Floid?

My wife like's the Floid Suave and the Floid Blue. She likes the Blue more than the Suave. I think lately she was tiring of the intense powder scents though. She likes the Black more than she ever liked the Suave or Blue.

I just got mine yesterday. Unfortunately I'm not a fan, though I love Blue and Vigoroso. This one to me is way "modern" as they describe. It's like every other foofy guy cologne out there to my nose. AKA something I'll never wear and would make me sneeze. Joe at IB described it to me as very similar to Azzaro... if that means anything to anyone. I hate to say it, but it reminds me of something I'd expect to smell coming out of an Axe can, though more high end and refined.

Sniff tested, nose unapproved!

Anyone interested in purchasing it from me? Biggrin

Pretty much just what I paid for it plus what it costs to ship. Say $27
Cool

That's fair since it's basically new, but if I'm going to pay new price for it I'll probably just put it in with some other stuff from a store and spread the shipping pain around.

Thanks anyway, though.

Put it in the B/S/T for $27 shipped and it will sell. Rather quickly I would think.

Thanks Johnny! I will do that soon when I can get pics and grab anything else I may need to sell.

So far I seem to be the odd one out in terms of my impressions of it. I'm interested to hear more Biggrin

Just received the Floid Black today, rubbed some on the back of my hand and smelled. It is complex and as Cyberjcm said foofy, floral, sweet perfumey kinda smell. Not sure about this one at all. Did receive a bottle of Floid The Genuine as well, like the smell of this much better!
