I am ecstatic.
I love the r41.
My closest shave ever.
I can say there is almost similarity with less aggressive razors.

I've been shaving with a Truefitt & Hill Carlton DE razor for a month and a half now with varying results.

Some shaves are mediocre DFSs , some are painful BBSs. The last shave I had with it was 2 days ago.
After applying my ASB I had some tingling. Normal for me. I just find the blade too deep between the cap and the guard. I'd nick myself once every 2 shaves no matter how gentle ,deliberate or patient I was.

But today's shave with the r41 was flawless. Not a single nick.
I did a WTG, a XTG and then a reverse XTG.

This is exactly what I need.
I feel like the blade edge protrudes enough from the razor for me to be able to maneuvere it and monitor it. And it's just so damn sharp or perceivably sharper.

The top photo is after the first pass (WTG).
The bottom one is after the second XTG pass.

Excellent! Yes, for the right person it's a very nice razor. Glad you like it!

You had exactly the same reaction I had on my first use of it. Love at first shave.

What did you use for a blade?

The only fly in the ointment for me was the handle, and it took me some time for me to realize it was causing all of the minor issues that later developed with the razor. It was too slippery for me and I always thought the razor was slipping, so I was holding it too tightly. I replaced it with a grippy and smaller UFO handle and the issue was taken care of.

Shadow dad, I frankly thought people were slightly exaggerating but they weren't.

I got such a close shave from the first pass.

I feel bad. I'll probably never use my TF&F Carlton razor again.

I used a Feather. I can't wait to try it with an Astra SP.

Glad you likes it, Saif Cool

I originally also bought the R41 with the Mühle grande handle, but disliked the fact the handle is hollow, so immediately sold it with an R89 head mounted on the handle and then installed the R41 head on a Feather DE handle and now prefer my R41 head on my Mühle Stylo Thuja Wood handle Cool

This set now resides in my bathroom.......because I love the look of it and so does my GF Cool
The R41 gives as close a shave as my Feather Japanese Straight Artist Club does !

The R41 is a great shaver and the more you use it, the better it gets.

Only thing I would suggest would be to try it with another handle. The iKon OSS or Bulldog, or one of the UFOs would great and would certainly be an improvement.

Anybody not do a ATG pass? This is where I seem to get bit using my new R-41, especially the upper lip. Still learning with this one.

Happy to hear you liked it ... I had an almost identical positive reaction!

Similar to the post above I prefer it with a different handle (Ikon works well)
