Does anyone know of a good definition resource regarding straight razor terms - such as "full hollow ground," "tail," or "wedge" - or would be willing to create such a resource? I usually have no idea what's being discussed when I read straight razor threads, and I'd like to be a little more knowledgeable. TIA.

Michael - thank you for the concisely presented information. I too am easily befuddled when I try to decipher the straights .... I hope to try some in the future.

Hi John

I recently found the YouTube videos found here by Lynn Abrams to be helpful/useful...

Plus this, Beginner's guide to straight razor shaving, to also be helpful/useful...

Take care, Mike

I've taken three of the photos from the SRP wiki, and the first one is from asharperrazor.com, hope that's not a problem.

I always was of the Billy school when it came to the word toe to describe a razor.

I call the actual end of the cutting edge the toe. The entire part is the tip.

That said, I don't really converse about the tip of a razor very much so I can't say I care terribly much.
