I just want to stop in and report that 19 days into using nothing but Straight Razor Designs Opus X shaving soap, I have no problem skipping the AS balms and splashes. The mild fragrance lingers just long and soft enough, and the skin is not dry. Makes for a simple and very enjoyable morning shave experience.

Gary, do you have any idea who makes this for them?

Something I might have to try someday.

Think I'll stick with my aftershaves and colognes Gary, I'd grow a beard before giving up my manly scents.

I feel the same way using Mitchell's Wool Fat and Mike's Natural soaps. I think it's the lanolin. Makes me feel like I don't need anything afterward.

I do, anyway, of course. I just like the scents and it makes me think I'm disinfecting any small nicks or cuts.

I hear you Squire. You can do both. If the scents are important to him, I think even a man with a beard would continue to apply his manly fragrances. Opus X has a masculine fragrance that is associated with the scent of fresh pipe tobacco. If I had a beard, and a bottle of this fragrance, I'd apply it so I could enjoy it and my beard concurrently.
