I don't know if it was posted already.

Many of you have probably heard about the elementary school shooting this morning in Connecticut. Twenty-seven dead, eighteen of those are children. My heartfelt prayers go out to those who lost a family member/child in this horrific shooting.

I have merged my thread with Mick's. The rules in my post apply to this thread as well.

I'm not exactly sure where to put this. And I want to make it very clear this thread and this forum in general is NOT a place for political debate and that includes things like gun rights and gun control. Any replies to this thread which bring up gun control, gun rights or anything else along that realm will be deleted.

That said:

If anyone has not seen CNN or the news this morning, a gunman walked into an ELEMENTARY school in CT this morning and killed 20 people including 10 children (last report said kindergartners). I am asking people here to keep the families of the victims and even more so the children who survived but saw the horror in their thoughts and prayers today and in the future. 5 and 6 year old children should not face such terror anywhere, much less their school where they should feel safe and comfortable.

Again, please keep all comments and replies civil and remember this is about dead children and the children who witnessed this. I will not allow this thread to devolve into anything other than keeping thoughts and prayers with those who must be suffering unimaginable horror and emotional terror.

It's really terrible news. I was shocked when I had learned how many children had been shot and killed. Angry

Just horrible, I'm lost for words.

What kind of monster can kill a child? That's the one thought that runs through my head. It;s hard enough for me just to scold mine. Prayers go out to the families.

It appears most of the children who witnessed this were all 5 or 6 years old, I cannot imagine how the parents of the survivors will help their children cope and deal with this. They are every much victims as are those killed. The emotional scars from this may never go away.

First thing I thought of was me grandson who is in kindergarten this year. I cannot imagine what those poor parents are going through at this time, plus the spouses of the slain adults. Just a huge tragedy.

Of course as usual, the coward took his own life also. May he rot in hell.

"Child victims were just 5-10 years old. CBS says they were killed execution-style."

How can a human being be so evil?

I would like to see metal detectors incorporated into more schools.

May a guiding light shine
For those left behind
For the pain that they face
May they achieve a state of grace

I cannot even comprehend what they will go through.

20 kindergarten kids, their teacher (shooters mother) and 4 other adults. Absolutely horrible! And as a Dad of 4, one of them a year from kindergarten, it hurts deep and its very scary. I'm shocked and dont really know how to feel right now.

As a retired elementary school teacher (35+years) who taught every grade from kindergarten through 5th, I simply could not believe it. I sat in front of the computer (where I discovered it) and just stared and shook.

Of course my thoughts and prayers go out to all who were directly affected by this insanity (for can it be anything but that?). For those of you here at TSN who have young children, please give them an extra hug this evening.

The scumbag murderer will bow his knees before Allmighty Yahweh (God) to be judged for his wickedness.

Then he will be cast into darkest damnation where there will be eternal weeping and gnashing of teeth.

May Yahweh (God) somehow comfort all of those who have lost loved ones on this very horrible day. Sad

I've got friends who have been or are school teachers (you included Freddy) and I'm thankful you all are safe. I just cannot wrap my head around taking the life of a child.
