As some of you may have noticed from Doug's thread here, Bob Quinn does some amazing work turning custom handles; both for razors and brushes. I was contemplating a custom brush when Bob posted in his artisan thread some very unique blanks that were a combination of wood and resin. One immediately caught my eye and I quickly reserved it. This began a very enjoyable process of working with such a talented artisan who was able to bring my thoughts into reality. I highly recommend that you contact Bob at Elite Razor if you have any thoughts about a custom piece; either for your razors or brush. He will tell you what is possible and communicate clearly with you to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Now please allow me to introduce my new brush. The handle profile was inspired by the Simpson M7 but not an exact clone. I call it my E7 for the company that created it, Elite Razor (although I'm sure it could also be a B7 or Q7). The handle material is a combination swirl of buckeye burl and a garnet or wine red resin. It is stunning to not only look at but also to hold in my hand. The finish on it is superb.

The knot inside the handle also needed to be of superior quality to match this splendid handle. The knot is a 23mm High Mountain White from Wet Shaving Products & it is set at a loft of 50mm.

Enough words, now to the pictures... (I'm not sure why the size difference from pre to post bloom)

Bob is doing an excellent job with those handles , I can tell. If you also add a quality knot like that HMW one , then you have a very good brush with no shadow of a doubt.

Thanks for sharing it with us , Brian , and let us know how it works for you.
