I got itchy and pulled the trigger on this entry-level item. It's my second Omega; my other is pure boar.

Interestingly, this brush's handle is marked in Italian as being pure boar, and the bristles are not the unnaturally white color seen in pictures of this and other Omega synthetics. They look more like boar but one close look and a deep sniff will tell you the bristles are artificial.

It's a small piece but I like the grip of the handle. Sort of a rubbery plastic, and bright shiny red as I'd requested. The bristles whipped my PC emu oil shaving cream easily. Still, it came out a bit thin; more experience needed, obviously.

On my face it felt nice. I prefer a stiffer bristle anyway. Not like a hairbrush, mind, but with a bit of give.

One doesn't see many fans of this class of brush on the forums. I got this because the idea of a travel brush that dries quickly is appealing. All my natural brushes do not completely dry out in the bathroom in less than 28 hours. This will be, I hope, an improvement. And for under US $15 it was delivered to my door. Excellent!

I had a Syntex at one point. They dry quickly but it was a bit too floppy for my taste. I had no trouble making lather with soaps or creams with it though. I'd imagine they make great travel brushes.

Thank you.

Did you face lather with it using circular strokes or painting ones ? I thought these kind of synthex brushes were kind of harsh on the skin...
