Yesterday I was in Bath and Body works to get some Co Bigelow Black Elixir products (favorite scent, body-and-hair wash, deodorant, and until recently, after shave (why would you discontinue only one product in the scent line!?)), I stumbled upon a few tubes of this sitting beside it. I decided to buy it, since Proraso's name is popular with old-soul shavers, and bought the tube for 10 dollars. Gentlemen, allow me to be clear when I tell you this...

I DON'T THINK I'LL EVER GO BACK TO ANY OTHER TYPE OF SHAVING CREAM/SOAP/LOTION/GEL/ETC!!!!!

I haven't had a shave that nice in quite some time, and while I was a little over-zealous with my razor this morning, I can honestly say that it was the nicest shave I've had this year. Tip of the hat to you, Bath and Body, for carrying REAL men's products!

Just wait until they have the buy 2 get 1 free sale!

Bigelow / Proraso is a great product. I much prefer the tub over the tube. Otherwise I'd have quite a bit of Bigelow in my Nook. I'm just curious if the Bigelow brand will pick up the red & blue versions or not.

They do! That's how I got the first tube, and I WILL be going back for more!

Proraso is such a classic.I have been using Santa Maria La Novella lately , which is an "improved" version of Proraso with added lanolin and Im enjoying it a lot too.
Did you get the 150ml tubes? Can you tell me , please , their formulation?I know that the small tubes have the brand new Proraso formulation , and Im still wonder if the old ones are the same than the old Proraso formulation.

Teiste, it depends on the store you get them from I think. I've been in a few with my wife so while she checks her stuff I go look at the Bigelow. I've seen some stores still carrying the SLS version while others have had the reformulation; both in small and large tubes IIRC.

The store here in Vancouver carries only the small tubes and they are still the old formula (or at least they were a few months ago when I bought 2 and got 1 free). If anybody wants to trade a new for the old (and maybe a few other things to make the postage worthwhile) drop me a PM as I would love to see the difference firsthand.

Oh, and btw, every Proraso product I have tried up to this point has been top notch.

C.O.B is a great product made by an excellent company...I as well prefer the tub, so I rarely purchase the tubes anymore.

Ehh, if I'm in the mall, I would rather buy Maca Root, C&E Sandalwood or even L'Occitane's stuff... Bigelow/Proraso is good, but its not great. The best thing about it though is its user friendly and its impossible to get a bad shave out of the stuff.

I'm pretty sure the store in Foothill had just small tubes of the old formulation. I was with my kids buying gifts for mom so I didn't have a lot of time to look before my 3 year old demolished the place though.

If the tub is better than the tube, I can't imagine it. COB is pretty good stuff.

Product wise is the same, just firmer or softer. I just prefer to load like a soap rather than a cream.

I've squeezed out a tube of COB and let it harden for a few weeks. It works great, and seems very similar to my tub of Proraso.

I like it because now I can use up all those buy 2 get 1 free tubes I've bought over the years.

So I now have 4 of the large tubes, but was disappointed when my hometown store switched mid-holiday-shopping to the smaller ones...but hey, I've got my (limited) supply!

Several months ago, stores in the Philadelphia area were carrying small tubes of the new formula and big tubes of the old formula, then they were out of big tubes for a while, but as of last time I was in a local store, everything is now new formula.

I got some Bigelow when I was last in NYC. My only gripe is that the cap won't screw on the tube properly. Otherwise I think it's a fine product. In Australia we are a little over eucalyptus products. Hell, the country SMELLS of eucalyptus in summer, but a good product is a good product. I love it and want more.

I really hope that those big tubes of the new formulation have arrived to Utah.I have found the small ones too , but no sign of the new ones...
