My father in law wants to get back into DE razor shaving. What older razors that are in my price range ($1-$20) are known to be less aggressive?I'll be looking at swap meets, flea markets, antique markets for a bargain. Are there any decent new razors worth looking at NEAR my price range? How about the LORD L6? Weishi's seem to be a NO GO.
Thanks

A good nonaggressive DE razor that is very commonly for sale in nearly every venue is the Gillette Super Speed. They often can be picked up, in good condition, for less than $15.

I haven't tried a Super Speed yet, but I'm loving my Tech. I think they are pretty reasonable too.

You could easily find a Schick Krona for ten to fifteen dollars on the B/S/T or on ebay. They are nice mild shavers and get great reviews.

If you want to give him a 3 piece I would suggest a Gillette Tech. If you want to give him a super speed I would suggest:

Black Handle SS
Blue Tip SS
Flare Tip SS
Diplomat.

[all of which I have for cheap for a buddy. :-)]

Hi

Take a look at the Cadet razors, for the money they offer excellent value (IMHO)... Take care, Mike

Edit: Cleaned up list.
