I used my Fatboy set at 5 with a Personna red blade this morning. Very close shave, but I think my angle was a bit off as I also got a bit of burn. No nicks though so I can't complain too much.

My Fatboy is be absolute favorite, #1 razor. I set it to a 3 and get a fantastic three pass shave without every having irritation. If I could only have one, the Fatboy would be it.

Hmmm, maybe my burn was caused from having the adjustment set too high. I will try turning it down a few clicks for tomorrow's shave. Being somewhat inexperienced with the Fatboy I thought starting in the middle would be a good idea.

I love the fatboy too, its a great little razor. Although its the only adjustable I've used before. I perfer it on the lower settings 3-5 usually depending on which blade I'm using. I think I got a small cut the first time I used it but after that I've never had any issues with cuts, weepers or irritation.

I have a very clean cased E-4 Fatboy heading my way right now thanks to to a very kind forum member over at the B&B. He actually was not the owner but was near enough to the antique store to drive over, inspect, and mail out to me all at no cost, just a gentlemen.

These are my ideas for a group name...

Fantastic Fatboy
Fatboy Fanatics
Fabulous Fatboys
Faultless Fatboys

All proceeded by Fanbase so it could be called The Triple F club.

I have a Fatboy, but how about making the group about enthusiasts of adjustables in general?

So far I have:

Fatboy
Slim
Super Adjustable

Believe it or not, the Fatboy is the least liked of these three shavers.

Another Fan here.. I have a G2 Fatboy named George. I shaved this morning, with a Tradere OC and since I am off to a business dinner tonight, I short-shaved with George set at 5. Arko, a custom Bob Farvour and a Personna Red. Two pass and I am BBS all over again. I forget how much I like the Fatboy. I wish the handle was much longer. I have a Long Handled Super Adjustable and it shaves much the same, but it doesn't have the appeal that a 50+ year old razor does.

Request permission to join the club please...!

I never really understood the groups thing, BOTOC, LOSER, Alliance of Merkur, etc. or folks that belong to multiple groups, doesn't that defeat the purpose? I mean, the groups are supposedly for like minded folks to talk about their favorite razor type, then they join all the groups. Why not just use the Razor sub-forum and talk about them all as originally intended?

No offense intended of course and my apologies if I have indeed offended anyone. It's something I've genuinely been curious about over the last year or so as more and more of these groups keep popping up.

Nice rhodium fatboy Sunflake. Did you have to dissassemble it to have it replated and then repaint the numbers and red spring?
I always wondered how that process worked on these razors.

Anyway here's my F1 Fatboy from today shave.

Reliable electroplating is the company who replated it. And no it was done in one piece. I painted the numbers and the red indicator.
