Anyone here have any experience with the E-Shave brand? I know I've heard the name a few times in my years around the boards, but never paid them any attention.

My mother, being the mom that she is, always notices the abundance of shaving items and whatnot when she comes to my house and is always asking questions about my hobby.

Anyways, she decided to give me a little early Christmas present today and dropped this little kit from E-Shave off for me.

E-Shave Orange Sandalwood kit

Being the junkie that I am, I set about giving the brush and cream a test lather.

This little pure badger travel brush is, well, it's terrible. The handle is tiny, the knot is skinny, way too much loft, floppy as could be, pure badger, yada yada you understand that it's bad.

The cream on the other hand was a bit of a surprise. I'm a strictly soap / face lather guy. I have no interest in creams whatsoever. That being said, this stuff smells very nice and lathers extremely well. It's a dense concentrated cream that held a lot of water and produced a very dense and slick lather. I was quite impressed. Similar to a few British brands that I have tried before.

I'll probably bust out the whole kit today and give it a whirl, minus the brush and pre shave oil, and I'll see how the aftershave lotion works.

Let you know in a bit.

+1. I've heard good things about the cream, but nothing else.

Update:

Cream and Balm are fantastic. Cream was mentioned in my earlier post but the balm is a very thick lotion that goes on easily, absorbed extremely fast and is NOT greasy in the least bit. One of, if not the best ASB's I've ever used.

Didn't touch the pre shave oil as it's not my thing and the brush leaves a lot to be desired. Wouldn't be bad for a starter travel brush, but I have spoiled myself and have become a brush snob.

Overall pretty pleased with the kit. I think it's certainly overpriced for what you get, but the things that you do get are in large quantities.

Would I buy it again? Nope. I'd much rather have a tin of Mike's Orange Cedar and Black Pepper (very similar scent to this cream) and a bottle of the Balm.

I think e-shave shaving creams and soaps are amazing. I've been using mandarin shaving soap for this week and I'm planning to write a review this weekend.

Matt, you have pretty much discovered what I have about ê-Shave. Their creams are excellent and their brushes are pretty bad. I was gifted one of their brushes but don't usually use it. I agree about the green tea scented cream...nice.

eShave cream and ASB are two products I'll always have in my den. Fantastic stuff! The owner is a bit off key though.

I've never tried êShave, but I have a friend who swears by it and only uses it. I've got so much other stuff I like that I'll never get a chance to try it / buy it.

It won't take many video clips to understand but some are certainly more entertaining or questionable than others.

Wow ..... great video. I had no idea Johnny was leading me astray with his boar brush talk. Better just throw my Semogues and Omegas away.

Yeah, I only made it through like 20 seconds of that video before I had seen enough.

Crazy as she may be, the cream is very good and the balm is excellent.

May actually keep these.

Regardless of Danielle's videos, êShave products are worth trying. The creams are top performers. I intend to try the soap some day.

I have tried the Lavender soap , and while its scent was on the "sweet" side , its performance was nothing short of excellent : thick and slick lather , and great skin care properties. For me , this shaving soap plays on the same league than other French shaving soaps like Provence Sante , Institu Karite , Pre de Provence , L'ocitanne Cade etc.
