I'm not really familiar with the different generations of iKon open- and closed-comb double edge razors. Would someone knowledgeable please outline briefly for me the successive generations and their differences? Thanks! I do appreciate it.

I think Ben is the expert here, I am sure he will chime in with advice and pics.

Here is a quick review of the early OC's...easier to paste a link to pics...

The prototype serial number 3, Spindle, two piece.. Incredible machining, but crazy aggressive

The Gen I OC looked the same but the positioning posts were more rounded, less pointy. Also very aggressive. I have pics someplace.. I just sent a few to Greg.

The Gen II OC and Standard Bar.. #45, #14 and ....

Fantastic pictures sir....

This is the DE Razor I was waiting for and gladly would have paid for, skillfully machined open comb polished stainless steel. This was the golden age of iKon and what I'd hoped to see in current production.

I can understand why iKon is instead currently offering the more easily manufactured less costly sintered stainless steel with a dull surface coating, however I would have perferred to pay more to get more...

I love the Gen 2 iKon Deluxe OC Bulldogs. Greg offered both brushed and polished stainless in the original batch. My #07 is brushed, which I prefer to polished.
