Hello Gentlemen,

I've been using this beauty for the last week with great joy.
This brush is a joy to look at. If you are a semogue fan like me, you must feel the same way, too.

The handle is an interpretation of the classic Semogue 1305.
It has three stripes of color: (thus the nickname 'tricolore') green, white and red. Semogue produced this brush for italianbarber.com.

The hair is natural boar bristle premium 90% tops, and is not banded, unlike 1305. The knot is 22mm, the loft is 55mm; the knot is suitable for both bowl and face lathering for me.

It is a medium density brush. The backbone is there, silvertip fans may find the knot on the hard side of the spectrum. It definitely needs a break-in period. Don't get me wrong; even before break in, the knot is soft and is not prickly at all. This is why I love boar brushes. During break in, the knot gets softer and softer. This period takes approximately 20-25 circles of lathering, in my hands.

I have never had a hard time lathering with any Semogue brush, this brush is no exception. The long loft helps creating lather in no time.

The ergonomy and the feel of the handle is top-notch. It is painted beech wood, and I always prefer the feeling of a natural handle to a plastic one (that's why i prefer Semogues over Omegas but that's another story Smile ). The weight of the brush is near ideal, it would be nice if it were heavier, but YMMV of course.

The semogue fans, I guess, have already bought this beauty. I strongly recommend the italianbarber.com 2012 LE to the remainder wet-shavers. This is a great brush.

Score:9/10

Good Review. This is my favorite of the Semogue Boars. It came out of the box so soft and made great lather right from the first use.

For me this is a luxurious brush . I just find funny that sometimes people say that badger is luxurious , while boar is not or doesnt feel like badger.Well , for sure doesnt "feel the same" , however this brush has extra soft tips , feels excellent on the face , and I will have a hard time telling somebody that this is not a "luxurious" brush. For me , this particular one , have been an excellent surprise , not only for the gorgeous handle (the most beautiful one on my collection right now) , but also for the new premium 90% tops boar hair.

You are right, my friend. This has nothing inferior to a badger brush. I think the Semogue handle quality is at the same level, if not superior, with the most of the high priced badger brands.

I have more badger brushes than boars as total but I love a good boar as much as I love a good silvertip or best.

I think the die-hard badger fans dislike the boar brushes because of their 'bad boy attitude' Biggrin You know, especially with the semogue brushes, the bristles go which direction they want! The badger bristles are always in line, even when they bloom the look is like a sweet Persian cat, not like a bad-ass punk Biggrin
You have to give them enough water (soak if you will) to keep the hairs soft. Because when dry the backbone is more prominent.. Just a thought Smile

I hesitated a long time, because I also have the Semogue 1305.
But I don't regret the purchase!
