Hi Gents:

No, these aren't real Simpson Chubbies, but they are similar in size and design, and both are impressive performers.

The first one is a really nice 31.5mm Rudy Vey Chubby with a TGN 2-band knot and an extra-wide (slightly wider than a Chubby 3) Jade handle. Very nice density and backbone, Tips feel a bit scritchy when dry, but not in use. As always, Rudy's workmanship is excellent. I would describe it as being equal in quality and performance to a Simpson Chubby 3 in Best.

The other is a New Forest Tubby 2 which has a 26 - 27mm 2-band knot set in a Chubby-type handle. The loft is 54mm and the handle height is 45mm. The knot is a very nice pure bulb with soft tips and a stronger backbone than Rudy's brush. I don't think it's a TGN knot. The downside is that it wobbles - the bottom isn't perfectly flat. Peter assured me that it would take minimal sanding to fix it. Also, the bottom has a matte finish - it's not shiny like the rest of the handle. So the handle quality is not up to par, but the brush's performance is excellent.

I don't recall what I paid for Rudy's brush ($100, maybe?), but I'll sell it for $70. I paid $77 for the New Forest and would sell it for $50. Both prices include conus shipping. BOTH SOLD
