I was not expecting to have such pleasurable experience with my newly acquired slim! I now call it the Kennedy Slim or the JFK(1963 4th Quarter date code). I will play around with the settings, but I started out with a 4, popped in a Super Iridium and it was a nice mild shave. I recommend trying a Slim if you have not done so already.

They are very nice razors and congratulations. You will need to set the adjuster high as they mild shavers at low settings.

Glad you enjoyed it. Inspires me to dust off one of my adjustables and see what I've been missing.

I used the Slim for the first time only about a month ago. I was really impressed with the shave.

It's not aggressive, as you point out, but it is smooth and easier to use than a FatBoy. Very underrated razor.

I use it as a touch-up razor most of the time, though it's certainly capable of giving excellent complete shaves.

Yes, lower settings are quite mild, but open it up for the closest shave. It's magical at "9".

The Slim adj' is one of 2 DE razors that get used 90% of the time with me.

glad you liked the slim.

Try throwing in a gillette navy and starting out on 9, then next pass 7, then next pass 5, then do touch ups on 3. In my experience, although limited with a vintage gillette adjustable(fat boy) it makes for a DFS at the least.

Both birth year and quarter. I have many Slims including that year and quarter.

The Slim is my go to most favorite razor.
