This is a knock off Gillette adjustable called the Ideal and was made in Russia probably in the 1970s. It was listed as NOS and the seller (eBay) had only 3 sets. I got the last one. I should have it in about two weeks. I am not expecting much but I am still excited. The base plate is plastic but the rest of the razor is metal and I will assume nickel. When I get it I will review it and post additional pictures.

Jerry they are apparently pretty good shavers but you have to fiddle with the base plate on em to make the blade gaps line up good. Well worth it from reading.

I heard that the US, in retaliation for Russia forbidding adoptions to US citizens, is stopping the importation of all shaving products from Russia . . . . .just kidding.Wink

Take a look at this thread: http://shavenook.com/thread-russian-adju...-adj-clone

I have one of those, and other members as well.
The razor is an "Ideal" razor from Russia, from around the year 2000.

It is extremely mild, I use it at the setting 9 with no trouble at all. Aesthetically, it resembles a mix between the Slim and a Super Adjustable.
Although it is not as well built as a Slim/Super Adlustable, it is quite solid, a good piece and a nice experience to have.

Thank you Emanuel for bring this to my attention. I totally forgot about that thread. It is the same razor by Ideal. It might be the seller sold me the last remaining one as there are no more on his eBay store but who knows. It nice that someone can duplicate a Gillette adjustable which actually works.

Appears that way and yes the eBayer seems to have a big variety of Russian blades. Mine suppose to come with 7 blades.
