When I started DE shaving just over a year ago, I didn't have a concept what a years worth of blades looked like. Well here is what I used in my first year. This is about 110 blades. On average I changed blades every 3 days. Some, like the 7 A.M. blade, only made it through a single pass. Others, like the Iridium Supers, made it 11 shaves. Other times I shaved with the Gillette Guard.

It looks like I'll get at least 2 more years out of this blade bank.

I like the storage idea! Years ago when I was working for a remodeling company, I got to tear a wall out of a bathroom. I was really surprised when I tore the wall out under the Medicine Cabinet and found thousands of Rusty DE blades!

It was very common back in the day to have a slot in the rear of the medicine cabinet into which one would drop through their used blades.

I have a couple of those disposable blade banks but, I have not used them yet.

I bought a Tin Coin Bank at the Dollar Store but, I have not used it yet.

So far I am just Lazy and am using an old Plastic Chocolate Milk Container that has a wide mouth.

But a Pill Bottle will work too.

nice storage idea! I have a few empty pill bottles that are too small to double as brush holders so maybe I'll use it for this purpose and get rid the huge vitamin jar I've been using that would probably take 30 years of daily shaving to fill up (literally).

That's what I thought, and that's why I posted this. I see other blade banks that are quite a bit larger and I just can't see taking up that much space when a small pill bottle will last for 3 years. This bottle is 3 inches in height and less than 2 inches in diameter.

Biggrin Hah! My blade bank can will last me the rest of my life then! I better take the pallet of used evaporated milk cans I have stashed away for blade banks to recycling. Wink

Seriously, very interesting perspective on the used blades. I never imagined it would be such a small quantity.
