Im wanting to try an injector but i know very little about them. Ive looked on ebay and i am wondering which one is your favourite. I see schick injectors with butterscotch, white, amber, adjustable, and gear shift handles. Hows the Gillette techmatic stack up? Am i leaving any out? Wheres the best place to buy blades? Thanks in advance

if you are looking for a razor that a bit more aggressive then I would think you would want a E or G model. You are more on the mild side then you may want to look at I, J, or L.

For Schick the I1 & I2 are a great razor to start with. If you want more efficiency then go for a G or an E. For less efficiency then look towards an L.

There's also the M adjustable where you can change it to what you will.

Here's some more information from a more accurate source...

I have several but my favorite is the I1. As for as blades, you can also find them on eBay, but I buy mine here.

The Gillette Techmatic is not an injector. It is a banded blade razor in which all blade production ended years ago.

Look for a Schick I, J, L, or M series razor if you want a more larger and / or longer handle.

the last 2 are easier to navigate than a screenshot of a site that was once live.

we'll have that page live here on the shave nook in a few days with more photos available (I, myself own 11-12 injectors), grammar fixes and a few errors in the patent numbers that I've found.

I'll mention the "N" (1,2, and 3)....it's slightly milder than the "L". (N: ca. 1980 + after Warner-Lambert until introduction of the "O"-the last of the injectors.)
the difference between the "L" + "N" is that the "L" is more efficient.
all I can see physically, is that while the heads are basically the same, the "L" blade gap is about 0.70mm, the "N" is a bit tighter at 0.60mm.
If you see a "twin injector" or "injector twin shaving system", don't be put off....all Schick razors take all Schick blades.

Since dusting off my "N" (bought about 30 + years ago) this fall, I have been very pleased to make it's re-acquaintance. No regrets about getting the "L"'s, either. The "N" handle is not the prettiest girl at the dance, but is comfortable and feels solid in the hand.

FYI blades

I just acquired some new carbon steel injector blades. They are blue, but I do not know the manufacturer. I got them from a company called Granger at 100 for $30. They are, without question, the best injector blades I have ever used. I just used one in an "E," and next I am going to try one with my magazine C.

I find the G mild for me and the E aggressive. I have the tennis handle L and the Paul Revere L and find the Paul Revere to be very efficient. Maybe something to do with the length of the handle and a slightly different angle needed to shave with it.

I can't tell the M adjustable are different from setting to setting.

The Ted Pella injector blades are really great blades.

Here's a photo of the Paul Revere (on the left), the middle razor is the Cobra Classic and the far right the Personna Injector. I'll take a photo of the Tennis handle one tomorrow.

I've been told that the heads on the Es & Gs are the same; only the handles differ. I, too, find the E to be more aggressive than the G. According to those that know more than I, however, these two should be the same.
