The only Italian shaving soap I've tried in my short venture into wet shaving has been Proraso, which I love. Curious about trying some other Italian brands and was hoping you fine folks would share your favorites with me. Thanks!

Well, my absolute favorite is the Proraso Green in either tube or tub.

But there are some excellent soaps/creams that come out of Italy. I always had good luck with Cella when I used it.

P160 is very good, no longer produced but there is still some available from Joe:

Other than Proraso... Cella. Explosive lather, delicious almond scent (some say it is closer to cherry, but YMMV), excellent performance, and decently priced. <3

I would have to go with anything from the Razorock line, with special mention to XXX and S. Maria.

I quite like Proraso Red as well.

No almond scents for me though, I don't enjoy them.

Valobra Lavanda - a limited edition soap no longer in production. great performance and a scent that I love. I've seen it come up a couple of times on the B&B BST, but I regret that I didn't jump on it.

Other favorites include RR XXX, RR Fresco, and AdP

Biggrin That would be me. But as it ages the cherry fades. Mine smells an awfully lot like mild almond now. If it had smelled like that when I first opened it I wouldn't have had a problem with the scent. It was disgustingly strong fake cherry when I unwrapped it.

But to answer the OPs question. P160 is the best IMO, next would be Vitos Red (not the coconut). Both are almond. I seem to remember that RR R160 was pretty decent too. In fact the performance of all the RR creams I've tried (only 3) has been very good.

P 160 if you can get your hands on it. Plus all of the RazoRock croaps including Caco, Classic, XXX (if you can find it), Capriscian Lemon, and Mentolipto.

The only actual Italian ones I've tried are from RazoRock. My favorites are

King Louis Lavender
LOA Caprician Lemon
XXX

Mystic Water is another favorite soft soap, but it's an American product.

The TFS/La Famiglia soaps around nice, too.

I have not yet tried Santa Maria La Novella but think I will break down and order a tub from Lee this weekend. Cool
