Some months back, one of our members, Oscar11, began making available for sale his custom handles. There was one in particular that I admired, a blue pearl beehive. That handle, with a 24 mm TGN Finest Fan (that is unusually soft compared to the other TGN Finests that I have) is my favorite brush of all the brushes I own or have owned.

I also own an enormous 30mm Chubby style handle from Steve in a kind of leopard/zebra sort of pattern. This is a massive brush that sees use on the weekends when I'm in the mood for a luxurious, soap wasting, face filling badger lather.

Over the last six months, through Oscar11's generosity, I've accumulated more of his handles which have been laying in a cigar box knotless while I waited for a period of Gentlemanly Restraint on shaving purchases to end Xmas eve. The next day, I placed an order for three new knots from TGN. Those knots arrived today and this evening, using double sided tape and an assortment of coins (foreign and domestic) I set those knots temporarily in their new homes.

Since it didn't happen without pics, here they are:
Blue Pearl Beehive TGN Finest Fan in 24mm
Chubby Style with TGN Silvertip Grade A 30mm
Caramel Swirl With TGN Super Silvertip 24mm
Rare and Exotic Amber Bottom with 22mm Super Silvertip Fan
Copper/Black/White Swirl with 30mm Silvertip Grade A

You can see the blooming difference between the new brushes and the old ones.

Thanks Guys. I am a lousy photographer and the pic doesn't do them justice. Looking at them right now on my living room table while watching Master and Commander. They just get prettier and prettier.

Nice!

You need to report back after using them!

BTW, every time I've read that "gentlemanly restraint" comment I let out a chuckle.

What a coincidence, my son and I were watching that movie right about the same time you were!

Here are a few closeups of the brushes. Several of you admired the amber handle and Steve's posted pics of his before, but it is so attractive that it's worth reposting. Vintage amber handles are much sought after and it's a mystery why we don't see more of them in custom creations.

Here are two pics of the Amber handle. I used it last night and so it's got a bloom to it. I think the loft may be 2-4mm too high, but that shouldn't be a problem as I can pull it out and reset it.

and another:

I don't really know what to call this handle color. Steve told me what it's called, but I've forgotten. Had to take a couple of pics because no two turn out exactly alike with this sort of material and it has this warm red/rust swirl on one side and a chocolate swirl on t'other. Hope these pics catch that for you.
Had to Dremel out this hole as the TSN knot I got for it was bigger than 30mm. No complaints and thank you TGN for the extra hair, but it just required a bit of extra work.

And because one of our members admired it, here's a closeup of the caramel swirl which I find more and more attractive every time I look at it.
