Since I'm new to DE, I thought it would be nice to have a birth year Tech for my first vintage razor. Looking for one in great condition. Thanks!

Jeff, if you have no luck, there are plenty on eBay...

The Brit ones are not date coded. IMO the British Gillettes were better made, heftier, thicker metal. I look out for them. The Fat Boy and Slim (Fatboy Slim?) are, of course, superb. I open mine out to 7 or so. As far as I am aware, the Brits did not produce a FB or Slim. Yes/no?

Jeff-

Keep watching eBay: I wanted a ball end Tech in great condition and it only took 3 days of looking on eBay for the perfect razor to come up.

Just search 'Gillette Safety Razor' on the 'bay and you'll be surprised how many great razors are there! By the way-- you'll be looking for an "E" date code on the razor. Many of the better sellers will have either the year, the date code, or both listed so it should be easy to find your razor.

Good luck!
